Remembering Robert J. Ryan

At 6 feet, 6 i n c h e s Robert J. Ryan was a gentle giant and a distinguished gentleman. Humble and honest with untouchable integrity, he headed a family of four (Beth, Patty, Robert Jr., and Dennis), pioneered a local insurance brokerage that thrived through Kingston’s heady IBM years, prospered as the region struggled to transition from a one-company-town economy, and through it all kept laughing.

Robert’s infectious humor elevated those around him - through the good times, throughout the 12 ½ years following the stroke he suffered at the age of 62, and even during his last days at Benedictine Hospital as he joked constantly with the nursing staff.
