The family-run store is owned by Mary Wiedy, with day-to-day operations overseen by Mary’s children, Sharlene Martin and Bruce Wiederspiel. Sharlene and Bruce’s grandparents, Edward and Marie Wiederspiel, founded Wiedy Furniture in 1954.

Wiedy’s is open Monday through Thursday from 9am-6pm, Friday from 9am-7pm, Saturday from 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 11am-5pm.
Wiedy’s has been insured by Ryan & Ryan Insurance Brokers for the past two years. When asked why they chose R&R as their insurance agency, Sharlene responded by stating:
“Because they are a local, family owned business. I had spoken with Kim Whelan in regards to our renewal and because of our personal relationship, we compared her carriers to our existing renewals premiums and opted to go with Ryan & Ryan.”
Sharlene closed by stating: “We have operated in this community for over 64 years. Our large family has attended and still remains active in the local schools. We donated $1 million for the SPCA renovation of a new building. We donated a building in order for the Habitat for Humanity Restore to operate in Kingston. We sponsor many youth sporting events locally in order to give back to community. We believe in keeping our business local and hope for it in return. We keep our insurance business local with Ryan & Ryan Insurance because they also believe in the concept of giving back to the community.”
