Interstate Battery of the Hudson Valley, December’s Client of the Month, provides wholesale and retail sales for all battery needs: automotive, commercial, boat, motorcycle, RV, and more. The family-run business is owned by Chris Spano, who has been a distributor for Interstate Battery for 37 years.
Chris’s father, Christopher, was a founding distributor of Interstate Battery in 1963 in Westchester County. In 1985, an opportunity arose for Chris and his wife Martha to buy the distributorship and relocate from Peekskill to Red Hook. They have been at their Kingston location, at 192 Greenkill Avenue, since 1988. Currently their son, Vincent Spano, is the general manager, making it three generations of Spanos working for Interstate Battery.
Interstate Battery of the Hudson Valley services Ulster and Dutchess counties, and they are proud to take recycling seriously. In fact, they recycle more batteries than they sell, as they “care about the communities where we live, play, and raise our families,” according to Martha.
