Taconic Distillery, March’s Client of the Month, is a purveyor of fine craft spirits located at 179 Bowen Road in Stanfordville, NY. The Distillery handcrafts their award-winning bourbon and rye whiskies in small batches using only the finest ingredients, including grains grown in New York and natural spring water right from their farm.
Taconic Distillery was founded in 2013 by Paul Coughlin, an avid outdoorsman and bourbon aficionado. He and his family had a passion for the outdoors and the desire to work the land, so they purchased the 115-acre farm, now known as Rolling Hills Farm, whose corn fields and natural spring water became the inspiration for the Distillery.
The Distillery is truly a family-run business—Carol Ann, Paul’s wife, is the Chief Mixologist, complementing the tasting notes of the spirits with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create delicious cocktails for every season. And their children, Grace, Kathryn, and Christina, help at events and around the tasting room when not away at school.
Taconic Distillery features a tasting room and retail space serving their spirits, in addition to beer, wine, and soft drinks. There is a beautiful patio overlooking the farm, complete with lawn games and a fire pit. Open Saturdays from 12pm-6pm, visitors are welcome to bring their own food and enjoy the afternoon sipping incredible spirits and cocktails!
